According to Automotive News, General Motors has postponed the launch of its next-generation full-size pickups (code named C3XX) while the company takes time to figure out where the truck market is headed.

The pause for study is expected to take six months. It's unknown when the future trucks will arrive. They were originally expected to debut in 2012.

GM also said it will extend the life of its current GMT900 pickups, the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. The move will free up resources to work on more fuel-efficient vehicles that have gained popularity as gas prices have risen.
